Mad Studies Meeting 6 Jan 2022

  • Zoom

Service Description

Are you a Lived Experience Practitioner (LXP)? (Mad) Academic? Student? Clinician? Service User? Carer? Come and join us - Mad Studies is for everyone :-) Mad Studies Birmingham is passionate about Mad Knowledge & Mad Literature. We are kicking 2022 with a bang - it's all about Lived Experience leading the way! Rai Waddingham will be joining us to discuss NSUN's much anticipated report on Lived Experienced Leadership, which was released in November just in time for NSUN's AGM. "Commissioned by Mind and NSUN, this report collates the contributions provided by people with Lived Experience through 106 survey submissions, 32 interviews and 7 focus groups with 31 people. It was inspired by a desire to understand the complexities of the ‘Lived Experience Leadership’ field and determine any supportive role Mind, NSUN and other mental health organisations might play. Contributions were gathered from August 2020 until January 2021." Lived Experience Leadership – Mapping the Lived Experience Landscape in Mental Health (2021): If you have any difficulties being able to access the reading, please let Tamar know in the booking form. We will also be continuing work on the chapter we are writing for the Mad Studies book edited by Dr. Toby Brandon, due to be published next year. We will be allowing extra time for this - we have an allocated writing committee, but Mad Studies attendees are also welcome to stay for this half. 2022 Dates: 6 Jan 6 Feb
